I've moved
I've moved out of Morgantown to the area that I grew up in. I'm currently living in my paternal grandfather's old farmhouse. I think it was also his grandfather's farmhouse. At any rate, it is an old house. The wiring is a little suspect and the foundation is shifting, so we have decided that we won't be trying to fix it up. There is also the problem that high speed internet is only available by satellite. At first I thought this would be an OK arrangement, until I checked out what you get with that. They don't expect a VPN or VOIP to work, both of which I need for work, so I've been commuting 20 miles a day into Petersburg where my brother has let me work in an extra dental operatory that we have converted into a small office.
Having said all of that it should come as no surprise that we have made an offer on a house in town. This will automatically fix all of the old house problems we are dealing with, as well as end my commute and eating out for lunch. Of course all of the monetary savings we will get through that will go towards paying a nice sized mortgage.
