Buying feminine products, a Man's perspective

One big advantage is to take a cell phone. This will limit the pondering and considering portion of finding the product. Knowing exactly what you need in advance also helps. (Though due to the vast array of potential products out there, the store you visit may not stock the product your female needs.) If upon reaching the appropriate aisle (which is generally near the drugstore products and sometimes near the beauty products). Go directly to the item you are looking for and pick it up. If there is a problem (such as now it comes in a variety of offerings, it isn't there, etc.), then use your handy cell phone. Politely talk to your female and clarify the problem. Don't attempt to figure it out by yourself. You're a man, you don't know. You could just pick one that seems close enough, but that has a large potential for back-firing when you return. It could go either way though, my wife thinks it's great that I do this at all so she can be very forgiving. If it is not exactly the right thing I may need to go again or to a different store and this just doubles the effort, so having, using a cell phone is preferred. It also helps to have someone to talk to when in this awkward situation. That being said, if you are a cell phone person and generally talk a lot, you may want to call before you enter the store or at least sometime before your list takes you there.

After you have selected the appropriate product, picking a checkout line can be a highlight of the experience. Should you choose a checkout line with a male checker.. you will likely get no response about the product and your juxtaposition at buying it. However, if you pick a female checker, often, though not always you will get an extra smile and you know they are thinking.. gee I wish my man would do that for me.

Returning home can also bring praise. All in all, it is not an experience to avoid. We can overcome our simple natures and prove that men are civilized. Or in the words of Possum Lodge of the Red Green show:

I'm a man,
but I can change,
If I have to,
I guess.
